Heartwood Gathering offers the option to camp on-site with access to the main buildings for washrooms and showers. We will provide an area for washing your own dishes if you are preparing your own food. We are in a natural area, so we recommend keeping your food in your car at night to protect it from wildlife. All participants are responsible for their own camping equipment. New this year we have 20 car camping spots available for folks who would like to have their vehicle with them.
Tenting spots for folks willing to camp away from their car is available on flat grass lawn or in the forest. Car camping sites are located in an open field with no shade. We share the site with other park users so please bring ear plugs to block out extra noise if you are sensitive to noise.
If you have a trailer that you would like to bring please let us know so we can accommodate. You will still have to purchase camping and note that there are no hook-ups.
There are a limited number of indoor accommodations available in dorm rooms. There are four single bunks to a room with shared washrooms. Shared and private washrooms are located adjacent to dorm areas as well as private shower stalls. During registration, there is the option to request a bottom bunk and state your roommate preferences. You are responsible for bringing all your own bedding. Dorms can be noisy. We do our best to inform everyone of quiet hours between 11:00pm and 7:00am but footsteps and doors can still echo. Please bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
Due to limited availability, we are reserving indoor beds for those staying both Friday and Saturday night. If you would like to only stay one night, please email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to be placed on a waiting list and notified within a few days of the gathering is space is available.
The on-site accommodations are fully booked, as of April. Below are some other accommodations options that are all within 25 minutes of the Heartwood Gathering/Ganaraska Forest Centre:
